Lone Star Leads Modeling Best Practices Benchmarking Project

Dallas, Texas (8/21/15) Lone Star is leading the Modeling Best Practices Benchmarking Project (MBP2). This effort is surveying a broad range of modeling practices and will share insights among professionals who might not otherwise have the opportunity to gain insight from outside their own communities. Several leading groups have either already participated, or have agreed to participate. These include academic, corporate, and government organizations.

Protest Report Draws from Lone Star’s CEO

The Congressional Research Service (CRS) issued a report to Congress, “GAO Bid Protests: Trends and Analysis” which draws on work by Lone Star CEO Steve Roemerman, among others. “CRS is an important institution on our Legislative Branch,” Roemerman said. “This report is timely because of the increasing trend of protests in federal acquisition. The data and trends are worth understanding because they represent hundreds of billions of tax dollars being spent.” The report is available at the CRS website, www.crs.gov

I enjoy my classes, they are starting to get tough but I try to just ask myself if I was asked to do this at Lone Star how would I get it done and it just motivates me to tackle it more!”

Lone Star Supports a Texas Thing: Small Town Rodeo

It’s a Texas Thing; small town summer rodeo. Flag waving, dirt flying, local kids, working cowhands, traveling professionals, and NOT made for TV. Lone Star is a proud sponsor of the 49th Annual Lewisville Labor Day Rodeo. More than a dozen employees and family members will attend the three day event this year. Several summer rodeos survive across Texas, but we are fortunate to have this little slice of Texas culture alive so near the urban sprawl of DFW. This event is only 30 minutes from the I. M. Pei designed Dallas Symphony Hall.
